One of our favourite spots for stunning, authentic Vietnamese food. The name is not easily pronouncable (Gung Turh) but worth trying! This gorgeous restaurant is run by a husband and wife team who were both raised in the restaurant trade by Vietnamese parents and they certainly know what they are doing. They have transformed this little old fashioned, daggy restaurant into a trendy, asian fusion hotspot.
Husband FE (Fussy Eater): HFE is in love with the Caramelised Cashew Chicken and of course no visit is complete without the Dim Sims. Also there are a wide variety of bourbons on offer. 10/10
15yr old VFE (Very Fussy Eater): VFE loves the Caramelised Cashew Chicken as well. Not too many vegetables! The Banana Spring Rolls were a hit too. 9/10
Me FOF (Finder of Food): I love everything I have tried here! The Dim Sims are my favourite on the coast – just enough chilli and not oily. The Sizzling Seafood was awesome – I wasn’t completely in love with the fish I must admit, but the prawns and calamari were amazing. The Pho was unbelievable – the aromas from the herbs and the broth mmmm. The Wok Classics are all yummy – you just can’t go wrong really. 9/10
Value: Excellent value – prices are pretty much what you pay at any Asian restaurant but here you get super fresh, quality food with authentic flavours.
Service: Great staff on all occasions we have been here – they look after you well, service is fast and efficient – not one mistake!
Verdict: Fantastic decor, great service, amazing flavours! This is a very popular spot with the locals so make sure you book well in advance.
