Oskars on Burleigh

You cannot beat the position of this restaurant – the food was excellent but our waiter certainly let down the team!!

Friend LE (Loves Everything):  FLE enjoyed all the food – good wine started our day. Food was excellent quality – the prawns with macadamias won the day – and a Groupon voucher made sure we could afford the meal (although the host gave us the specials menu without mentioning that it was not available when using the voucher).  7/10

Me FOF (Finder of Food):  Gorgeous winter spot – sitting in the sun, looking out at the ocean and the coastline enjoying a glass of NZ wine – cant go wrong – right? Wrong – the food was all luke warm.  We were told it was to enhance the flavours – um newsflash it didn’t!  They did offer to remake the chips but by then we couldn’t be bothered.  Not acceptable at a restaurant of this calibre where you are paying a premium.  Crab pasta was delicious even luke warm and the calamari was very tender,  Chips with feta and oregano would have been divine had they been hot!  6/10

Value:  Not cheap!!!  Special occasions only and make sure you ask for hot food.

Service: Our server was so up himself it was ridiculous – it wasn’t overly busy but took a long time to get our order in.  He deigned to bring us water after having to ask – obviously did not like the fact we had a voucher and we were left feeling he did us a huge favour.  Not impressed.  The host was lovely while not informative.

Verdict:  Gorgeous restaurant with fantastic views and if a bit cold) food.  Won’t be hurrying back
